Our first annual holiday launches in summer 2018

It will provide magical new experiences and opportunities for independence for children and young people with disabilities

Our goal is to provide excellent holidays, creating an environment in which holiday makers feel surrounded by peers and friends.  To achieve this, we will be working with a youthful team of volunteers recruited from Fettes College - the school will also host the holiday.

At a minimum, the people in our care should be:

Safe: we will protect you from harm, in body and mind

Happy: we will make your holiday lots of fun

Respected: we will consider your rights and wishes at all times

Nurtured: we will give you chances to try new things, and to do the things you love

Every year I have volunteered has been an opportunity to bring fun, friendship and laughter into the lives of so many different people (staff and holiday makers alike) and the power of this cannot be underestimated. I urge anyone considering joining the holiday to just jump in - don’t be afraid to do something truly amazing that will change your life and the lives of many many others.

We'd like to thank families and volunteers at the Oundle School Mencap Holiday for letting us use photos from their holidays to illustrate our site. Once we have held our first holiday, we will have our own beautiful pictures to share.
